A Bit About Me
Hi! My name is Dillon, and I’m a therapist assistant who has been working at Master Minds for a year. I recently graduated with a Graduate Diploma (Adv) in Psychology. My work primarily has focused on implementing and tailoring evidence-based strategies to help manage my clients’ executive functioning difficulties. These difficulties can impede day-to-day activities such as maintaining attention and focus, organising thoughts, planning out activities, decision making, emotional awareness and self-regulation. I also endorse interventions targeting the intersection between mental health and physical movement, and especially the significant impact that greater bodily awareness and motor control has on improving clients’ executive functioning and emotional awareness/regulation. This, alongside improving clients’ social skills through team and group activities, has been the goal of various workshops I have co-developed and run. I am also interested in positive behavioural support, which addresses the often overlooked and interconnected factors that contribute to behavioural concerns as I work towards being registered as a behavioural support practitioner.
